In mini hatchbacks, NISSAN Micra is a good choice with good and reasonable performance

New Nissan Micra hatchback has been at top for its five generation in Europe after its launch in the year of 1985. Now once again with some new refinements and improvements, it has come into direct competition with Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Vauxhall Corsa and VW Polo.

Nice and humble interior attracts the audience

If we compare its interior with all its rivals, then we find it the best in its class with good practicality and adjustments of features. Its interior is simple and humble but stylish as well. Dashboard is well knitted with equipment that have perfect match with its interior and look. Features are nice in appearance too.

Practicality and comfort

Nissan Micra offers nice and comfortable driving experience with good practicality. Limited space has been adjusted with great perfection. Its sitting arrangement is very nice with good practical approach. There is enough head and leg space at front and at rear. There are reasonable cubbyholes to use. Its boot space is more than Ford Fiesta’s and VW polo’s with 300-litres.

With two petrol engines and one diesel engine, NISSAN Micra hatchback performs really well

Nissan Micra petrol engines are superb in performance though not very big according to the size of the vehicle but give reasonable performance. Nissan has used 1.0-Litre petrol engine that is a three-cylinder and twelve-valve engine with 70bhp and 70lb/ft torque. This unit is not recommended by the expert due to its sluggish performance. It takes 12.4 seconds to get from 0-62m/h. Second unit is little bit bigger than the 1.0-Litre petrol engine. It is of 88bhp and 103lb/ft torque. It is 0.9-Litre petrol engine that takes 11.7 seconds to reach from 0-62m/h along with top speed of 109m/h. Fuel consumption of this petrol unit is very reasonable with 64m/g along with 99g/km of Co2 emissions. It is fitted with five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard.

Diesel engine is the best choice in Nissan Micra hatchback. It is a 1.5-Litre diesel unit with 88bhp and 162lb/ft torque. It is fast in performance and takes 11.5 seconds to get from 0-62m/h along with top speed of 111m/h. Fuel consumption of this diesel engine is very low with 88m/g and Co2 emissions are just 85g/km. it is a four-cylinder and eight-valve engine and fitted with five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive unit as standard.

Driving and Handling

The best engine is the diesel one with great performance. It offers nice and smooth ride with manual gearbox assembly. Nissan Micra is a three-door hatchback and well supported by 0.9-Litre petrol engine and 1.5-Litre diesel unit. With 15 or 16-inches wheels, it offers best performance with great relaxed manner. Steering -wheel is good in control and precise handling especially in corners its control is good. Its agile response is good. With low running cost it is very cheap to live with.

Nissan Micra is a safe vehicle for all occupants. It has secured five stars rating from Euro NCAP. Safety features are as per standard. Well balanced built has made Nissan Micra a durable and reliable vehicle.
