If that’s what our customers want, they will get it, says Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce is the name of ultimate luxury and state-of-the-art technology, with supreme engines and excellent interior; there is nothing that would not make you fall in love with it. As the world is looking for efficient and eco-friendly energy sources, hybrids are hot cakes, but Rolls-Royce is now hinting at an all-electric model that will soon get its place in the product line-up.

The German auto manufacturer had put the Phantom to experiment as 102EX an all-electric vehicle and after its success, looks determined to fully adopt this new technology. “We look at all the trends, the trend for hybrid and electric vehicles but the question we have to ask is, is this something our customers want?” said Richard Collar, Head of Bespoke Sales and Marketing for Rolls-Royce at the unveiling of the Phantom Drophead Waterspeed.

It was the year 2011 when 102EX electric Phantom first made its public appearance and received a lot of praises. Collar further added that they have given grave consideration to their customer’s feedback and the customers simply loved it. Producing powerful electric engines is a thing for Rolls Royce, and the engine itself is effortless and offers massive amount of torque but runs quietly.

There is absolutely no doubt that Rolls Royce customers “don’t accept compromise.” And the limited range of the electric engines is one of the major concerns right now. Thankfully, the improvements in battery technology are at rapid pace and Tesla has proved the range of anxiety is reducing day by day.

Rolls Royce believes a plug-in hybrid “will be essential within two years,” said Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO of Rolls Royce.
